Twitter flags another Trump tweet for 'abusive behavior'

The damn has broken.

Twitter once again slapped a label on a Donald Trump tweet Tuesday, writing that the president's ramblings about using "serious force" violated the company's abusive behavior policy. This move comes less than a month after Twitter fact-checked a series of Trump tweets, and then flagged another one for threatening violence against protesters.

"We've placed a public interest notice on this Tweet for violating our policy against abusive behavior, specifically, the presence of a threat of harm against an identifiable group," read Twitter's announcement.

The Trump tweet in question, sent Tuesday morning, threatened "serious force" against anyone trying to establish a so-called autonomous zone in Washington, D.C. Notably, there is an autonomous zone in the Capital Hill neighborhood of Seattle (much to Fox News' horror).

"There will never be an 'Autonomous Zone' in Washington, D.C., as long as I’m your President," wrote Trump in the offending tweet. "If they try they will be met with serious force!"

According to Twitter, the "identifiable group" in question are the people attempting to organize.

In the past, Trump has responded poorly to being held to the same standard as other Twitter users (even if that is only a recent development). After he was fact-checked by Twitter in late May, Trump signed an executive order targeting social media companies.

It is unclear how the president will bluster a response this time, but we imagine it will involve a more friendly platform like Facebook.
