This cat got a surprising summer haircut that is honestly red carpet ready

It's summer, so pets everywhere are heading to the groomer to get strange and embarrassing haircuts. But not Oliver the cat. Oliver looks really good.

On Friday, Twitter user @caitlinchristinee tweeted a photo of Oliver's incredible new 'do, which somehow resembles both a lemur's tail and that blue tulle Molly Goddard dress Rihanna wore that one time. 

Apparently, the style was not an accident. It was actually requested by Caitlin's father. Her mother — who, according to the tweet, made Oliver's appointment two months in advance — was not pleased. "I can't even look at Oliver," she said in a text to her daughter. "He looks absolutely ridiculous!"

It's OK, Oliver. We will look at you.

For some context, here's what Oliver looked like before his appointment. Still gorgeous, of course, but not quite so avant-garde.

Next time you take your pet to the groomer, consider asking for "the Oliver." They'll know what you're talking about! (They won't. Do not do this.)
