The NBA trade deadline is less than 48 hours away, leaving basketball executives scrambling and trade rumors swirling, many of them on Twitter.

And it seems many fans think the folks running NBA team social media accounts somehow have a say in what trades are consummated. That is most definitely not the case, but the Atlanta Hawks had a brilliant response to those who think it is.

Here are just some of the things people tweeted at the Hawks over the past couple weeks, all related to the trade deadline, which gives teams one last shot to make a big move before the season's final stretch.

@ATLHawks please Trade #24 to somebody that will take him. We have to have money to resign Hardaway jr

— Randy Seals (@raddrambo) February 18, 2017

@ATLHawks if you guys want to dominate the second half of the season then start making moves at the trade deadline and get new players

— DemonChild (@sexyassbadboy) February 7, 2017

As you can see, getting unsolicited trade advice can be a bit annoying. So the Hawks had a response for those geniuses ahead of Thursday's deadline.

BREAKING TRADE NEWS:

...the people who run team accounts don't make trades, so don't @ us with every rumor.

— Atlanta Hawks (@ATLHawks) February 21, 2017

Well-played, Atlanta. But if we're being real, the Hawks could use some trade advice. Though they're currently fifth in the Eastern Conference, they've seen early playoff exits in the past nine seasons.
