Maisie Williams, a.k.a. Arya Stark, has officially said goodbye to Game of Thrones.
On Saturday morning, the actress announced she'd finished filming the show's eighth and final season by sharing a photograph of blood-stained white sneakers.
"Goodbye belfast. goodbye arya. goodbye game of thrones. what a joy i’ve had. here’s to the adventures to come. #lastwomanstanding #barely #immasleepforthenextfouryears #justkiddingidontsleep," Williams captioned the emotional post.
AH! The end of an era is truly on its way.
Though we're fairly confident Arya Stark won't be sporting white sneakers in Season 8, it's hard to look at the blood-stained footwear Williams chose to include in her goodbye without asking, "What are thoooooooseee?!" Could the shoes be a clue that things in the final season will get especially ugly? Only time will tell.
The eighth season of series is set to return in 2019, but as filming begins to wrap up, other Game of Thrones stars, like Emilia Clarke, have started saying their goodbyes on social media.
In June, Clarke — who plays Daenerys Targaryen (aka Khaleesi, the Mother of Dragons, etc. etc.) —shared two sentimental Instagram posts to mark her final days of filming.
"Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade. It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing," Clarke captioned her most recent farewell post.
We probably haven't seen the last of the cast farewells, so fans might want to keep some tissues on-hand in the coming weeks.
