Ah, 2008.
You might not remember, but those were the days when the term "Web 2.0" was thrown around like it was going out of fashion (it eventually did), and Pownce was used in the same sentence as Twitter.
Speaking of Twitter, what happened in your 2008 feed? You can take a look at what your timeline would've looked like ten years ago, based on the accounts you follow now, in a neat link spotted by technologist Andy Baio.
Want to see what your Twitter timeline would've looked like 10 years ago today, if you followed all the same people you do now? https://t.co/41a6iQcYhc

It's a real weird time, where retweets weren't a thing yet. Retweets were added to the platform in 2009, which honestly feels like an age ago.
Of course, you can adjust the dates in the URL's search string, depending on what period you'd like to see on your timeline.
And change the date to whenever you like! Here's what Twitter looked like FIVE years ago today. (Hit "Latest" to see all tweets if you're on mobile.) https://t.co/GdsdkgKGRh

Whatever you find, Twitter was certainly a much purer place back then, where we'd tell people the innocuous, mundane ins and outs of our lives.
