Smartphone Sales Drop 3%; Samsung Retains Lead http://bit.ly/2WtSyCB Worldwide sales of smartphones for the first quarter reached 373 million devices, a decline of 3%, according to a new forecast by Gartner. Sales for the first quarter last year were 384 million. U.S. sales dropped 16% and China sales dropped 3% in the first quarter. Samsung sold 72 million devices in the first quarter, Huawei sold 58 million and Apple sold 45 million.
