A Do Not Disturb While Driving Feature Is Coming To Apple’s New iOS http://ift.tt/2u5KVkP A Do Not Disturb While Driving Feature Is Coming To Apple’s New iOSBeta testers in iOS 11 get to try out the new 'Do Not Disturb While Driving' mode The newest beta release for iOS 11 launched on June 21, giving developers access to an upcoming feature for the operating system: a ‘Do Not Disturb While Driving’ mode that was announced in June at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference. The feature detects when the user is in a vehicle based on the speed on the speed of travel from their GPS, or when the phone gets connected to a car’s USB port or Bluetooth signal. Anyone who texts someone in this mode receives an automated message informing them that the person they contacted is driving and can’t respond. ‘Do Not Disturb While Driving’ mode will not entirely prevent drivers from using their phones: they can still access music and receive navigation assistance. When the iOS 11 launches in September, all users of the new operating system will have access to the feature. Mobile Marketing via PSFK http://www.psfk.com/ June 30, 2017 at 05:46AM

Market Track, InfoScout Combine to Link Marketing Activity to Sales Impact in the Omnichannel World http://ift.tt/2sXRzLm Market Track, LLC — a provider of competitive business intelligence solutions — has joined forces with InfoScout, the first company to capture omnichannel purchase behaviors and attitudes that reflect the fluidity with which consumers shop across retail channels. What will the new partners do? The cash and stock purchase of InfoScout by Market Track enables the linking of omnichannel marketing and pricing activity to actual sales results, positioning the combined set of intelligence to “close the loop” for the most complex and top-of-mind challenges facing CMOs today. “Market Track is accelerating progress toward its vision of delivering best-in-class, unified competitive business intelligence. We have a well-established foundation of providing insight into the marketing mix elements that influence where, when, and how consumers shop. Through partnering with InfoScout, we can link our rich business intelligence and insights with true sales impacts for virtually all categories purchased in-store and online,” said Dennis Moore, Chief Executive Officer, Market Track. Add A 3D Hologram To Any Photo http://ift.tt/2s8OWn9 Add A 3D Hologram To Any PhotoHolo app uses volumetric imaging to add 3D images into pictures, and advertisers will be looking at how to capitalize upon this ability Good news for Star Wars fans out there—a software company has finally released the first-ever 3D hologram app that enables people to add holograms to photos! The holographic layer on the Holo app uses volumetric imaging that flawlessly integrates the image into its surroundings. At the core of the technology is 8i’s propriety capture technology. Instead of building holographic content from 3D modeling software, 8i captures images from real life. An array of cameras take footage of the subject (a celebrity, an animal, and so on) while the software blends all of the images into a realistic holographic figure.
Before coming to smartphones, 8i’s volumetric capture technology has been making waves for other reasons. On its blog, 8i shares past promotional opportunities including the creation of “Cycling Pathways to Mars” with Buzz Aldrin. Volumetric capture was also used on Emmy and Golden Globe winner John Hamm, who plays a hologram in the feature film Marjorie Prime. The technology allowed fans of the film to interact with the actor during the premiere’s after-party. The new app from 8i offers a lot of potential in terms of widespread adaptability. Just head on to the App store and try it out yourself. Upcycled Chopsticks Are Turned Into New Pieces Of Furniture http://ift.tt/2stuA7o Upcycled Chopsticks Are Turned Into New Pieces Of FurnitureA startup company in Vancouver, Canada takes the city's discarded chopsticks and turns them into wooden decor In Vancouver, Canada, it’s estimated that over 100,000 disposable bamboo chopsticks from restaurants in the city get thrown away each day. To stop this wood from going to waste, Felix Böck created Chopvalue, a company that turns discarded chopsticks into home accessories and furniture. Böck, who attended the University of British Columbia as a forestry student, reached out to restaurants in the city to work with them on solving this problem. With their permission, he placed recycling bins in their establishments where customers could toss their used chopsticks. The bins get picked up and sent over the Chopvalue’s lab, where the contents are cleaned, coated in resin and hot-pressed to turn them into a flat material that Böck and others transform into various products. Over 800,000 chopsticks have been repurposed by Chopvalue since it was created in July 2016. Mobile Marketing via PSFK http://www.psfk.com/ June 30, 2017 at 05:03AM
