People who frequently engage in this social viewing of news gain knowledge and are likely to feel more attached to a political party. “Social viewing offers a new way to advance democratic deliberation,” says Professor Yonghwan Kim from the Department of Media and Communication at Dongguk University in South Korea. “Therefore, it's important to explore how social viewing can boost political participation and mobilization,” Kim adds, “Social viewing offers a new way to advance democratic deliberation.
