Exercise Stick Trains Your Muscles With Light-Based Feedback http://ift.tt/2v6arsS Exercise Stick Trains Your Muscles With Light-Based FeedbackDisruptive Force designed an exercise stick that uses LED lights to help users understand how to exert the correct amount of force in their workouts When someone wants to start working out, they need to understand the appropriate form for performing exercises to get the most benefit from their routine and avoid injury. Disruptive Force, a fitness technology startup, developed the Axon exercise stick to help those interested in working out have a physical representation of their progress. The smart fitness tool shows how much exerted force a user puts into it and allows them to practice the correct form while training. A person works out with Axon by pushing the sensing end of the device against a sturdy object—a wall, the floor or even a tree trunk. The training stick’s sensing end contains LED lights, which turn white to show the amount of force a person places on it. During a training exercise, the user watches the white LEDs to chase the yellow guidance lights that represent their goal. The stick alerts the user that a goal has been met by changing yellow lights to green. The five-foot training stick weighs 10 pounds, making it a light-weight instrument to incorporate into different exercises. Axon comes with a companion app containing exercise instructions. If a user discovers a new exercise, they can add it to the app themselves and include it in their routine. More than one person can use a single Axon device, as the companion app allows for multiple accounts. The app features four different training categories: primer, mobility, strength and recovery. Before starting a session, the user customizes the intensity of their training, including selecting the number of reps, the target force for each rep and how long they hold the rep before returning to a neutral position. The app collects data during the session to present in a graph to show how well the person did in their workout compared to their goal. Disruptive Force started a Kickstarter campaign for Axon with a goal of $50,000. For a backer to receive the Axon, they would have to pledge at least $229. If the Kickstarter campaign succeeds, backers should receive their Axon training sticks in August 2018. Mobile Marketing via PSFK http://www.psfk.com/ July 28, 2017 at 07:00AM
