Enjoy all these beautiful videos of Americans cheering the Biden-Harris election win https://ift.tt/3neZAFd Joe Biden has just been declared president-elect by AP, CNN, and other news outlets, meaning that after days of waiting, Americans finally know who will be their leader for the next four years. As a result, many people went bananas. New York City was quick to take to the streets to celebrate, cheering and banging pots and pans, blaring their car horns: PBS White House reporter Yamiche Alcindor tweeted about cheering in DC, someone even shouting "There is a god": Chicago joined in: The celebrations soon began on the West Coast as well, like this clip of San Diego: Since Biden's win was announced early on in Pacific time — before 9:00 a.m. — celebrations even signaled people to check social media: And on and on and on.... Many Americans will undoubtedly be celebrating for weeks to come. Social Media via Mashable https://ift.tt/2DCFv97 November 7, 2020 at 11:29AM

'Gleefreshing' is the new doomscrolling https://ift.tt/38jJPbw For eight months now, you may have been doomscrolling into the deep. Doomscrolling is mindlessly thumbing through social media — probably Twitter — absorbing all of the horrible news about circumstances you can't control. Usually, the act has been associated with the coronavirus pandemic; as the year went on, it expanded into news about other topics like increasing social unrest and the election. Well, the pandemic isn't over — and neither is the country's racial and social issues. But, at least right now, there's a post-Election Day replacement for doomscrolling: "Gleefreshing." As Election Day turned into Election Week, it was undeniable that President-elect Joe Biden was edging ahead of Trump in key states. While the race wasn't called for days, news of Biden's lead and Trump's shrinking chances kept rolling in. This kept people glued to their Twitter timelines, but unlike in previous months, it was for a good reason. The emotional switch prompted author Jami Attenberg to muse if it's really "doomscrolling" when you're scanning for good news: Attenberg wasn't alone; many of us wondered what this unique feeling was. We were on social media and yet, for the first time since arguably the night before the 2016 election, we're seeing good news with every refresh. Slate's Heather Schwedel offered gleefreshing as an alternative, and people have been running with it: There's also a sprinkle of "schadensurfing," a term jumping off the German word "schadenfreude," meaning joy at others' misfortune. The term went viral on Twitter in early October, when Trump was diagnosed with COVID. It's undeniable that watching Trump supporters squirm and get upset is delightful, and schadensurfing isn't mutually exclusive from gleefreshing. "If you can’t get enough speculation about exactly how miserable Donald Trump is right now," Schwedel wrote, "you're kind of a sadist, but yup, you’re gleefreshing." Sadistic or not, gleefreshing has overtaken doomscrolling... for now, anyway. But this doesn't mean the work is over. The pandemic is raging, the United States hasn't fully reckoned with its systemic racism, Trump shoved in a third Supreme Court pick days before the election — and the election was so close that it's disturbing how many people voted for a man who let over 200,000 people die under his watch. Despite all of this, it's been a long week, a long year, a long four years. You're allowed to savor this moment. You're allowed to gleefresh the election results, and at the jokes and memes and whining conservatives. Tomorrow, we get to work. Today, my friends, we gleefresh. Facebook considers becoming mildly less convenient in hopes of saving democracy https://ift.tt/2I8lfzo Facebook is awash with election misinformation. And so, two days after the U.S. presidential election, it has decided to add "friction" to its spread. So reports the New York Times, which notes that Facebook is considering the bold action of requiring "an additional click or two — before people can share posts and other content." That's right folks, democracy is saved because the kind of people who believe in baseless conspiracy theories like #SharpieGate and QAnon will surely be deterred by having to click a "share" button twice instead of once. The announcement, leaked to the New York Times by "two people with knowledge of the matter," appears to be Facebook's way of trying to get a handle on the beast it helped unleash on the world. And while it's nice that Facebook is considering taking this step of closing the barn door, it's hard not to think that the horse escaped years ago. Twitter, for its part, added some friction of its own — even using that specific word — weeks ago. In early October the company altered the way retweets work on its platform, so that if you hit the retweet button you are first brought to the quote tweet field. "Though this adds some extra friction for those who simply want to Retweet, we hope it will encourage everyone to not only consider why they are amplifying a Tweet, but also increase the likelihood that people add their own thoughts, reactions and perspectives to the conversation," read an Oct. 9 blog post announcing the change. Apparently, the New York Times reports, another step Facebook is considering is to "demote content on the News Feed if it contains election-related misinformation[.]" Why Facebook waited until after the election — when Donald Trump has been straight up lying about non-existent mail-in ballot fraud for some time — to take these measures is as unclear as it is unsurprising. According to the Times, Facebook could make the "friction" change today. Though, again, we don't even know what that actually means so let's stop short of actually crediting the company with doing anything. We reached out to Facebook to confirm the Times' reporting, get details on Facebook's proposed changes, and to determine when it may be implementing the changes and for how long. We received no immediate response. Perhaps, now that Trump is poised to lose the presidential election (although, as of the time of this writing, states like Pennsylvania and Georgia remain uncalled), Facebook realized it should probably do something about the mess it has helped spread for years. It's certainly too little. Time will tell if it's also too late. Social Media via Mashable https://ift.tt/2DCFv97 November 7, 2020 at 11:29AM

Election Day is providing a lot of context for no-context Twitter accounts https://ift.tt/362EaUt No-context pop culture Twitter accounts are getting a whole lot of context this week, sharing some very pertinent, relatable screenshots amidst the 2020 U.S. presidential election. It's a bit of wry levity to help claw us through this. Out-of-context Twitter accounts typically post screenshots of television shows without comment, often highlighting the absurdity of particular moments or phrases. While many accounts are still doing so this week, there's also been a noticeable trend in what type of stills are being highlighted. Themes of despair, comfort, fear, and voting have been prominent in many of these accounts' latest tweets, offering some sly commentary on the political hellscape that is U.S. Election Day. We're all just giant arancini balls of anxiety and dread, but at least we're in this together. There have also been many references to drinking. Which, fair. Even if you don't drink, now seems like as good a time as any to have a sip. Politics were truly unavoidable even for the most apathetic this year, with the race between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden becoming the most heated, high-stakes election in modern American history. Everyone is biting their fingernails to the bed, waiting to find out how deep their emergency bunkers need to be. Novelty Twitter accounts can help manage the anxiety, but also remember to step away from the screens when you can. It's a tough day in a tough year, and there's no shame in temporarily tapping out for the sake of your mental health — once you've voted, of course. Social Media via Mashable https://ift.tt/2DCFv97 November 7, 2020 at 11:29AM Why Content Creation Is Important In Growing Your Business https://ift.tt/3l64GTo From small businesses to startups and big enterprises, there is one common goal: growth. No matter what stage your company is in, you will always seek growth. In order to do so, your business needs to reach more people and keep them coming back time and time again. One way to grow faster is content. Nowadays, commerce is all online, no matter how big or small you are. In the midst of suffering through a global pandemic, we have learned that every business needs more than just an online presence but an actual content strategy plan to stay afloat. Providing valuable information about your business will reach more potential customers. And if you do not supply the answer to your customer’s needs, someone else will. “Investing in personalized content is crucial, and allows your business to reach new audiences, build trust, and grow clientele over time”, says Cristian Gonzalez, CMO at Key Content, a multilingual content agency. Content is one of the most efficient ways to help your potential customers buy your products or services. Great content marketing builds trust between your audience and your business, which leads to brand credibility, increasing sales and improving reputation. It’s a cycle. Content marketing can improve your domain authority if you regularly update and create high-quality content to improve rankings and traffic. A top-ranking website is also considered trustworthy, as the quality standards of Google and other search engines are getting tougher. When comparing a content strategy that brings organic searches to your website every single day with a paid campaign, you will notice the moment you finish or stop the paid campaign, the content stops being shown. High-quality content is not cheap, but it will keep working for your business long after the initial investment. Where do you start? First, you need to understand what are your audience’s needs and pain points and how content is changing. Depending on where your audience is, you have to plan what type of content and where your audience will engage with it. If your audience is asking questions on Google, you should create articles to answer those questions. If your audience is on social media, then the primary content will be video. If your audience is listening to podcasts or asking Alexa, then investing in audio content is a good idea. Without information, it is hard for your customers to get to know your business. Creating content helps you interact with the customer at every step of the journey. When your customers are researching your product or service and find the answers to their questions, your business will become more trustworthy and generate more business. We, as a collective, are watching more videos than ever before, podcast growth is exploding, and searches on Google are growing every single minute. Creating consistent, relevant, and trustworthy content, whether it is audio, video, or written articles, will benefit your business growth. Depending on your business industry, you may want to invest in content directly on social media. This will help you leverage the tremendous ecosystems of social networks to get in front of thousands of people. Furthermore, contributing your content to news websites and relevant websites in your industry may benefit your growth via exposure to their audience, and also a form of referral traffic to your site and help with your organic rankings. Your content marketing should use your brand tone, be engaging, written in the highest quality with expertise, and goal-focused. ZenBusiness Review https://ift.tt/3n2mrmW ZenBusiness is one of the most reputable and popular business formation services on the market today. If you’re starting an LLC or a corporation, they can handle all of the paperwork and filings for you. The simplicity, fast filings, and excellent support provided by ZenBusiness are all top reasons why it’s so highly recommended. Plus, it’s affordable—even for small businesses. 70,000+ businesses have been formed with ZenBusiness. As a Public Benefit Corporation, ZenBusiness is committed to making sure small businesses are successful. Social impact is part of their business model and mission statement. So is ZenBusiness right for you? What services do they offer? Is it a good value? We’ll answer all of these questions, and more, throughout our in-depth review of ZenBusiness. Already convinced? Get started with ZenBusiness now. ZenBusiness Business Formation ServicesZenBusiness has a wide range of services, but its offerings in the business formation category are definitely the most popular—more specifically, the LLC services, incorporation services, and registered agent services. We’ll break these down in greater detail below. ZenBusiness LLC ServicesDue to its liability protection, forming an LLC (limited liability company) is an appealing option for business owners who want to protect themselves from individual responsibility related lawsuits or debts incurred by the business. Once an LLC is formed, the business becomes its own entity. So all of the legalities associated with the business are separate from the owner. Of all the services offered by ZenBusiness, LLC formation is definitely the most popular. Getting started is simple. Just navigate to the ZenBusiness website, select “LLC” from the dropdown menu on the homepage, and select your state. Next, you’ll choose from one of three ZenBusiness packages. Let’s take a closer look at these plans to see which option is the best for your LLC.
State fees are not included in these rates. The exact fees will vary from state to state. All plans come with LLC preparation and filing included. You just need to provide ZenBusiness with some details about your company, and they’ll handle the paperwork. Business name availability search is also included with every plan. The formation experts at ZenBusiness will search the state’s database to verify the requested name’s availability before filing the paperwork. If the name is unavailable, you’ll be contacted for a suitable alternative before the formation process starts. ZenBusiness gives you 24/7 access to your documents online through a simple dashboard. So you can track the status of your business formation at any time. Once the formation process is completed, you can download and print all of your LLC documentation from here as well. Registered agent services are also included in all ZenBusiness packages (more details on this later on). You’ll also get a Statement of Organizer document and an Operating Agreement template. ZenBusiness throws in extra perks like a $150 Google Ads credit, a free accounting consultation, special credit card offers, and a virtual business guide. How long will it take to form your LLC with ZenBusiness? It depends on the plan you select.
You could add-on rushed or expedited filing to your Starter plan for $50 or $100, respectively. But at that point, it’s worth it to just upgrade to Pro or Premium. An employer ID number (EIN) is not included with the Starter package either. The extra $75 fee for an EIN can be avoided if with the Pro plan. ZenBusiness has excellent customer reviews on third-party sites for its LLC services. They have a 4.7/5-star rating on Trustpilot with 4,100+ reviews. Like any product or service, there’s obviously some bad reviews mixed in there. The biggest gripe from customers is related to the turnaround time and lack of clarity with the timeline. Some customers were pleasantly surprised that their LLC was formed quicker than the estimated timeline (days instead of weeks). But they still wanted more clarity. Most of the reviews you’ll find related to the ZenBusiness LLC services look like this: Overall, ZenBusiness is a great choice for anyone that wants to form an LLC. The process is simple, and you can get up and running relatively quickly. It’s not the cheapest LLC formation service on the market, but they still deliver in terms of value.
If you’re unsure which type of corporate entity structure is right for you, ZenBusiness has useful resources on its website that outlines the pros, cons, and differences of each one. They also have a simple guide on the steps you need to take to form a corporation, which looks something like this: Each of these steps is explained in greater detail on the website. It’s easy for anyone to understand, even if it’s your first time going through this process. While ZenBusiness won’t handle all of these ten steps, their incorporation services provide assistance with most of them—especially the most cumbersome ones. More specifically, ZenBusiness can provide the following incorporation services for its customers:
Things like appointing directors, drafting shareholder agreements, and issuing shares of stock don’t really fall into the scope of ZenBusiness’s services. But that’s the case for most business formation services on the market today. You’ll need some of this information ahead of time in order for ZenBusiness to complete your corporate bylaws and other documentation. You can use ZenBusiness to register your corporation as a DBA (doing business as) name. While this won’t add any legal protection to your business, lots of organizations choose to use DBAs as a trade name. ZenBusiness offers the same three plans for corporations that they have for LLCs—Starter, Pro, and Premium. These packages start at $129, $249, and $349 per year, respectively. State fees aren’t included in the advertised rates. You’ll need to select your state to see the specific prices to file your corporation, and ZenBusiness will add that to your package. All of this is very straightforward on the website. The incorporation services aren’t quite as popular as the LLC services. If you browse third-party review sites, you’ll see most of the existing customers are talking about registering an LLC with ZenBusiness; very few are talking about a corporation. But don’t let that deter you from using ZenBusiness to form your corporation. In general, the LLC services are just more popular. It’s not a knock on the quality of the other services. Overall, I’d recommend the Pro plan. This incorporation services package comes standard with EIN filing, worry-free compliance, expedited filing speed. ZenBusiness Registered Agent ServicesZenBusiness offers registered agent services for both new and existing businesses. If you sign up for a registered agent with ZenBusienss, they’ll handle all of the required correspondence with the Secretary of State and other government agencies. ZenBusiness ensures that your tax documents and other legal business documents are managed and communicated appropriately to these government agencies on your behalf. States require LLCs and corporations to appoint and maintain a registered agent during the business formation process. With a physical location in your state of formation, your ZenBusiness registered agent can accept important legal documents on your behalf. They will upload them to your online dashboard, so you can view, download, or print them at any time. The ZenBusiness Registered Agent service starts at $99 per year. So you’ll have the option to get this as a standalone service. However, it’s much more cost-efficient if you bundle the incorporation service with a business formation package. These start at $129 per year, and even the entry-level plan includes a registered agent. The only reason to consider the standalone Registered Agent service from ZenBusiness is if you already have an existing business and want to switch registered agents. Otherwise, the formation plans will be your best bet. Your ZenBusiness registered agent will be available during business hours. They’re also able to be served with legal notice on your behalf and will promptly relay legal documentation to the appropriate parties at your business. If you browse the web, you’ll quickly find that customers speak highly of the registered agent services for ZenBusiness. Here are a couple of recent reviews that specifically mention this service: As you can see, customers are definitely happy with the value of ZenBusiness as it pertains to the registered agents. People were pleased to see the low prices compared to some of the other top business formation services on the market. If you’re in need of a registered agent, ZenBusiness has you covered. Overall Pricing and ValueCompared to other business formation services on the market today, ZenBusiness falls in the middle of the pack in terms of its pricing. They aren’t the cheapest, but they certainly aren’t the most expensive either. While we’ve already mentioned the plans throughout this guide, here’s an in-depth look at comes with each package: Starter — $129 per year plus state fees
Your tax ID (EIN) costs $75 to add-on to this plan. That’s definitely something that you’ll need. Pro — $249 per year plus state fees
Premium — $349 per year plus state fees
Overall, the ZenBusiness Pro plan delivers the best value. It comes with an EIN included and expedited filing. You’ll also benefit from the “worry-free compliance” service (annual report filing and two yearly amendments). The only reason to consider the Premium plan is if you’re in a rush and wanted to form your business as fast as possible. But the business website, domain, and email aren’t much of a draw—you should be getting those elsewhere. Instead, you can just pay an extra $100 one-time fee for rush filing as opposed to an extra $100 per year (Pro vs. Premium). Plans are 100% refundable if you cancel before the documentation is sent to the state. If you look at ZenBusiness side-by-side with some of the other big players in the business formation industry, they belong right at the top. You won’t get the same legal consultancy services provided by their competitors, but ZenBusiness still offers a tremendous value. User ExperienceThe user experience with ZenBusiness is seamless. You don’t need to be tech-savvy to figure this out. If you know how to use the Internet, you can form a business using this platform. Everything is so straightforward when you land on the website. Getting started is as simple as choosing your entity type (LLC or corporation) and selecting your state. From here, you’ll pick a plan and add-on any extras. You can create an account in minutes. Then you’ll just need to provide ZenBusiness with certain details about your business. All of this can be managed online through an easy-to-use dashboard. Upon reading customer reviews online, you’ll find nothing but glowing remarks about how easy the website is to navigate. After you submit your information to ZenBusiness, you can track the status of your order while the filing is being processed. You’ll also have access to all of your legal documents from here as well. If you’re prepared, you can essentially complete the process in one sitting. Then it’s just a matter of sitting back and letting ZenBusiness handle the rest for you. Customer SupportThe customer support team at ZenBusiness is highly responsive. These representatives are available via phone and email during the following hours:
Phone support is pretty quick, and most customers don’t experience long wait times. They reply to emails within one business day of receiving an inquiry. Having fast and reliable support is crucial when you’re browsing around and evaluating a business formation company. It’s normal to have some questions during this process. Here’s a recent review highlighting the quality of their service: Other customers raved about how they contacted ZenBusiness before signing up about questions, and the team was able to provide clarity and answers. Another customer explains how there was an issue with the business name that they wanted to register in a particular state. But ZenBusiness reached out and worked with them to quickly resolve the problem. They aren’t around to help you out on Saturdays. But beyond that, the support is top-notch. Final VerdictAt the end of the day, ZenBusiness should be a top choice to consider if you’re in the market for a business formation service. The LLC services, incorporation services, and registered agent services are the most popular offerings provided by ZenBusiness. In addition to the all-in-one packages, you can also use ZenBusiness for individual use cases (like EIN filing, business name registration, operating agreement templates, etc.). But the full-service packages for LLC and corporation formation are the most popular. Starting at just $129 per year, it’s tough to beat that value. Social Media via Social Media Marketing Podcast https://ift.tt/1LtH18p November 6, 2020 at 04:57AM Can I Make Money with Social Media? https://ift.tt/38d9hzD Social media has taken the world by storm. Today, hundreds of people use social media on a daily basis. Some of the most popular platforms in the world include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. Now, with so many people using social media on a regular basis, some people are wondering if they can actually make money on social media. There are a few ways that people can do that. The first way that someone might be able to make money on social media is through basic social media marketing. In this situation, someone does not make money directly off of their social media profiles. Instead, they used their social media profiles to drive traffic from social media profiles to their websites. Then, once people reach those websites, they will purchase something from the company. Because it is free for the vast majority of people to set up a social media account, this is one of the most cost-effective ways of social media marketing. Of course, there are other ways that people can make money on social media as well. Now, lots of people are wondering how to monetize Instagram. First, in order to make money on Instagram, it is important for people to apply for a business account and set up a business profile. This will provide everyone with the ability to sell their products and services on Instagram. In this situation, this is one of the most direct ways for someone to make money using social media. Essentially, people are using social media to create an e-commerce store. Then, it is possible for people to make online purchases which they then download directly or the vendor has to send to them. Finally, there is another way for people to make money on social media as well. Many people do not consider YouTube to be a social media platform; however, the reality is that it is one of the largest in the world. Those who have a large following are able to make money as social media influencers. First, social media influencers are able to make money by placing advertisements on their pictures and videos. They make money from these advertisements because companies want to get their products and services in front of their followers. Second, influencers also make money through affiliate marketing. If they are able to sell the product and services of another company to their followers, they get a cut of the revenue. These are a few of the biggest ways that people can make money through social media. As social media continues to grow, more and more people are going to turn social media into a fulfilling and lucrative career.
