Nadia Resta | Spaghetti Ramen https://ift.tt/uD0o3X9 Spaghetti Ramen is the latest release from Italy-based linocut artist Nadia Resta. This print was originally inspired by spaghetti, a typical Italian pasta, to which she added some koi fish and bowl, turning the illustration into Japanese ramen. “I love to mix up different cultures and see how many things there are in common,” says Nadia. She began the design process by firstly sketching the drawing on her iPad, which she then printed with a laser printer. Nadia used gloss gel acrylic medium by Liquitex to transfer the image onto the linoblock, let it dry for a couple of hours, and then removed the paper with water. Spaghetti Ramen exemplifies Nadia’s influences from different cultures. Her childhood was spent in the countryside of South Italy, yet her life experiences in Asia have also left a deep impression on her aesthetic. She completed a BA in Hindi and Chinese language and culture, (including Indian and Chinese art history) and lived in China for 2 years.
