The Importance Of Having A Bucket List In Business http://ift.tt/2rPSZJb Let’s all agree on one thing: the term "bucket list" is pretty awful. It’s morbid, overused and brings up memories of a below-average movie. But for all of those negatives, the concept behind a bucket list is actually really beneficial. Many psychologists agree. For example, according to an article in Reader's Digest, Shilagh Mirgain, Ph.D., a health psychologist at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, School of Medicine and Public Health used her bucket list to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. She relied on it as a way to keep track of her "inner compass" during the day-to-day grind of life and work. So many people get turned off the idea of having a bucket list because of misconceptions. They think it has to be something full of big impossible tasks or that it's just a way to brag to friends about the trips they've taken/things they've done. That's not it at all. In fact, the more personal to your own life and dreams, the better. The great thing about this? It has nothing to do with age. In fact, I believe everyone should have a bucket list of their own, regardless of where you are in life. It’s Important To Know What You Want A few years back, I was in a finance job I didn’t like. I was unhappy. But worst of all, I didn’t know what I wanted to do in life. I wasn’t motivated enough to make any major changes with my job or lifestyle, simply because I didn’t know why I was doing it. That’s where a bucket list comes in.
