Sofija Samac https://ift.tt/bg6NkdU Sofija Samac, a Belgrade-based illustrator, has been drawing since she can remember, from the age of 3 or so. As a teen, she practiced a lot of painting, but a few years ago decided to switch to digital completely; a medium that now mostly defines her colourful, maximalist, and eclectic illustration work. Alongside her studies of Graphic Design at Belgrade Polytechnic where she is in her grad year, Sofija also works as a certified print designer. When creating illustrations, Sofija describes; “I always want to create something that has never been seen; something unique, but maximalist and colorful”. Her main goal is for her work to be applied to everyday life materials, such as furniture, packaging, clay, wood, and more. The illustrator would also llike to dabble more in publishing, and work on some illustratationas for books. This year, Sofija created two book covers and “absolutely loved” the experience. Most of her work is done in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Procreate. Drawing faces, daily life, and food, is what she loves the most, which is clearly evident in her works. Texture is also vital to her work, which Sofija loves to experiment with. She comments; “The best compliment for me is when someone tells me they’ve been inspired by my work! Also, I always like when someone uses words such as ”unique” or ”your own style” to explain my work.” As far as inspiration goes, Sofija always tries to go back to the roots of art history; “I feel like the best thing is always to go back to classics”. She sometimes even looks back on her childhood drawings; often remaking and reinterpreting them, or sometimes taking parts of them from which she will create a new piece. “There is no better feeling than blank canvas ready to be colored with your thoughts and emotions.” Printing via People of Print https://ift.tt/VQD4iCX May 27, 2022 at 06:32AM BMW Creates Fully Automated Production Lines for 3D Printed Car Parts https://ift.tt/pnj9XcS Three years ago, 12 companies and research institutions working at the intersection of the German automotive and additive manufacturing (AM) industries formed a consortium for the purpose of...
